Meet The Morrises
Howdy! We are Blaine, Christy, E and J Morris and we love to be on the road traveling with our RV! We are part-time RVers and full-time dreamers. Blaine and I both grew up camping in everything from tents, pop-up campers, to travel trailers. Blaine even lived in a travel trailer for 2 years while in college. Christy has a large extended family and many of them enjoy RVing. After years of hearing Christy’s family share stories about their travels around the United States, we decided we wanted our kids to have the same experiences. We want to show them our great country, as well as bond as a family while traveling. We bought our first travel trailer while the kids were still in preschool and started out camping around the state of Texas. We also lived in our travel trailer for a year while building our house. Living in a travel trailer with a 3 and 5 year old at a KOA was definitely an experience! Although we have had a trailer for years, we lacked a vehicle we felt comfortable towing with for long distances or in hilly terrain. The longest trip we made prior to 2016 was to Disney World, where our route was relatively flat. We decided in the summer of 2015, while at our annual family camping trip at the Frio River in Concan, Texas, that it was time to make our dream of showing our kids the United States a reality. The following summer we made it happen and spent 39 days on the map making memories of a lifetime! At the end of the trip, we had driven 7,773 miles, been to 7 states, 2 provinces, 3 state parks, 5 U.S. National Parks and 2 Canadian National Parks. It was everything we dreamed it would be, and the best part is we have many more trips yet to come! Morrises on the Map started as a Facebook page to let friends and family follow along with us on our travels. We had so much fun keeping everyone up to date we decided to share our travels and the countless lessons we have learned RVing, so we started our blog. The best thing about RVing is how it has brought us closer together as a family! We hope that by sharing our experiences your family can get on the map and start making memories.
